Toadstool in Grand Staircase-Escalante

On the way from Zion National Park to Page, Arizona, I stopped to do the quick 1 mile hike to the toadstools in the southern tip of Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument.  It was mid-afternoon when I was driving so the light is pretty harsh, but my philosophy is that it’s better to see something rather than skip it because the conditions aren’t good.

This is a focus-stacked image consisting of three images taken with focus on the foreground, the toadstool and the back cliffs.  The three were then blended together in photoshop to maximize the depth of field.
