Sunset at Mount Wilson

My goal in this trip to First Creek Canyon was to work on getting a time lapse as I have shot a few, but haven’t done a lot of work with them.  I found this great rock with wildflowers to use as a foreground, framed it up to Mt. Wilson and set the time lapse to go for 90 minutes to capture the entire sunset.

This was working great as I was able to enjoy spending some time doing treasure hunts with my two daughters, but before long I realized the clouds weren’t moving fast enough and the colors weren’t coming in how or where I thought they would so I abandoned my time lapse and found some other compositions.  This was my favorite image from the hundreds I ended up with of this composition.
