Morning Light on the Backside of Smith Rock

Smith Rock State Park, Oregon

July 29, 201718 mm: ISO 200: f/8.0: 1/250 sec.

As we started descending down the backside of the Misery Ridge Trail at Smith Rock, the morning light peaking over part of the mountain, was pretty magical.  I tried to capture it with a few different attempts, but the images just don’t do it justice.  This is especially true because the wide angle and light sky make the distant mountains invisible in the image, but they were a big part of the scene in real life.

This is yet another 15 image product blending multiple focal lengths and exposures in the panorama.
