Given my bad luck, it was no surprise the only color from the sunset was happening directly opposite of where I wanted it. Once I had the composition I wanted, I found the best place I could to catch the last bit of color from the sunset. It was a pretty high dynamic range so I tried to bracket it, but when it came to editing, I found I was able to get what I wanted with just one exposure.
