River Scene: Lensbaby vs. Regular Lens

Donnelly, Idaho

There is a small bridge just a few miles south of Donnelly that crosses this river just before it empties into Cascade Lake.  Just before sunset, I climbed under the bridge and walked out to this spot with the grass coming up through the high-flowing water.  I was really intrigued by the scene with the grass, the river and the colors in the background, but I couldn’t find a shot I was really satisfied with.  I decided to try out the Lensbaby to see if I could add some more interest and draw the attention to the main colored tree and the motion of the water.

This is the image I made with my regular lens.  While I had fun playing with the Lensbaby, I still think I like this one better.  What do you think?
