Probably my favorite thing about our Hotel (Hyatt Regency) was waking up to the sunrise every morning.  We didn’t have the coveted Eiffel Tower view, but our Suite had a 220 degree view of the rest of the city.

Unfortunately, the window only cracked open so it was impossible to use a tripod and, even with my platypod, I could not shoot horizontally.  That means I had to open the shutter way up (not a big deal because I was focussed to infinity anyway) and bump up the ISO while holding the camera out the window with one hand to take the shot.
