Lightpainted House in Grafton

Grafton, Utah

November 5, 2015grafton 618 mm: ISO 1600: f/4.0: 30.0 sec.

This was my first time ever light painting.  It was during a free improve photography workshop in Zion.  We were shooting the sunset on the bridge viewing Watchman and, on the way back to the hotel, I mentioned to the leader Jim Harmer that I loved the images he had gotten a couple nights before in Grafton.  Without thinking twice, he took me out there and gave me a crash course on light painting.

For this image, I stood inside the house and used a flash light to illuminate all the corners.  At the same time, Jim walked around the house using his cell phone to light the outside.
