Driftwood at Boulder Meadows Reservoir

McCall, Idaho

August 19, 201718 mm: ISO 200: f/16: 1/4 sec.

This image was taken in a little alcove off the main reservoir near the couple camping spots available.  I loved the warm tones of the evening light, the reflections and the great details on the driftwood.

This was an interesting image to take as the only way for me to get out to the location where I wanted to shoot was to tip toe and hop from log to log and then set up my tripod spread among different logs nearby.  I was really worried the logs wouldn’t be stable enough for me to make this shot as it required focus stacking, but it performed well enough and I was able to create this image out of 3 different exposures focused on different points.
