Deer at Smith Rock

Smith Rock State Park, Oregon

The joys of shooting wildlife with a slow lens!  As you can see, I was using a slow lens this morning and had to crank my ISO way higher than I wanted.

We headed out to Smith Rock early in the morning to hike the accurately named Misery Ridge trail.  After we parked, I took off for the trail, in the wrong direction.  Turns out it was lucky I started off the wrong way because I ran right across this deer that looked great in the early light.  The struggle was trying to capture it with a slow lens when it was still pretty much dark outside.  That being said, it is pretty amazing what cameras can do these days.
