Lower Panther Creek Falls

Gifford Pinchot National Forest, Washington

July 24, 201718 mm: ISO 200: f/5.6: 1/8 sec.

The lower portion of Panther Creek Falls may not be as breath taking as the upper falls, but it is still a pretty impressive triple falls and you can see most of the upper falls above it so I actually enjoy the entire scene better from down below.

The large aperture on this image may be surprising, but I needed to open it up to get the shutter speed I wanted, where some definition would still be left in the water.  To compensate for the large aperture, I shot six images at different focal lengths and blended them in Photoshop to ensure maximum sharpness throughout the image.
